Say one of them breaks their arm, the other wouldn't have a broken arm as well, they would simply be feeling the exact same amount of pain the other is feeling. It's a extremely scary part of having a soulmate since they would be able to feel if their soulmate is being beat but wouldn't be able to do anything about it. The idea of having someone share that pain with him haunts him every night. But it also gives him hope. Hope that someone is out there that could help him get out of the terrible cycle he has begun.
