My heart rate quickly picked up as Noel slowly walked toward me. His muscles flexing as he moved. I felt my start heart beating loud in my ears, like it may just pop right out of my chest. He stopped and stood in front of the table and looked around the cafeteria, signalling for attention, I could feel everyone's eyes on us. "I Noel Chandler of the Blood Moon pack, reject Serena Cole as my mate," he announced to the cafeteria. I heard gasps and people instantly started to whisper around me. At that moment I felt my heartbreak, the wind was knocked out of me and I couldn't breathe, I bit my lip, hard, to keep tears from pouring out. I couldn't let him have the benefit of seeing me cry in front of everyone, I was embarrassed enough. "B-But, I'm you mate," I said quietly so only he could hear. He laughed slightly.
