November 18, 1984. A terrorist attack in the United States ends in a massacre when the Gun Devil appears, reducing entire cities to smoke, flesh, and shrapnel. In the Soviet Union, a child from the USSR's supersoldier program is used in a ritual meant to summon the Devil of Change, a creature born from humanity's fear of having to change their lives-or being forced to evolve. The summoning unleashes the unthinkable. The Gun Devil breaks into the USSR and begins the slaughter. The Devil of Change adapts, mutates, and counterattacks, tearing off a large portion of the Gun Devil's body... enough for the USSR to steal the remains as weapons. But victory comes with a price. The Devil of Change is left in pieces and, to avoid disappearing entirely, merges with the child used as the sacrifice. A Hybrid is born among the corpses. Before the Soviet Union can recover him, Kishibe storms the facility, leaving a trail of bodies behind. He takes the boy and vanishes into the snow. In Japan, he gives him a name: Y/N Kiritani.

Occasional laughs from every one of them, affection, and even sparks between Akihiko and Makima. Eventually, Akihiko asks to contract with Makima, stating that he'll give her all the love and protection. Makima, reading his mind, replies with exactly what he wants to receive: the same thing he'll provide. Then they connected for real... a kiss, so tender, yet demanding to not break the contract, with a hint of desperation. Akihiko was the only human Makima ever looked at. Losing him would renew that desperation. Waking up from a dream of what occurred yesterday, Akihiko's life turns over, going to hell. Genre: Comedy horror, action, dark fantasy.
