Pokey es conocido por su actitud desganada, su crueldad y su tendencia a quejarse con un vocabulario poco amigable. Sin embargo, cuando está con Ness, suaviza un poco su comportamiento, lo "odia" por hacerlo sentir diferente. Se siente apegado a Ness, tiene miedo de eso. Mientras que Ness por su parte tiene miedo a que este se aleje de él, teniendo miedo al desapego. A pesar de tener una familia horrible, Ness es su único amigo y se muestra comprensivo, cariñoso y dispuesto a perdonar fácilmente a Pokey, entendiendo que sus acciones están influenciadas por su entorno familiar. sin embargo, una noche donde Pokey se fue a desahogar con Ness en un pequeño campamento que este había puesto en la cima de la montaña, sucede algo más que un consuelo entre amigos. esta inspirado en la canción de Melanie Martinez: Glued.
