SUMMARY: During an ill-fated anniversary date, an extra-dimensional gash in reality known as the Fracture compels Colleen Carlyle to unleash the suppressed memories of humanity's Fracture-imbued cousins, the Unbound, including those of the catastrophic world war once fought between them and humanity. When her boss and local Senator brands the Unbound a threat to humanity against her counsel, Colleen realizes their only chance at peace is to reunite the shards of a Fracture-imbued timepiece forged by her absent, godlike father known only as the Shaper. SIMILAR FEEL TO: Arcane, Twin Peaks, Succession AUDIENCE: Ages 18-45, Millennials and Gen Z who want a slow burning, emotionally charged adventure that speaks on themes of empathy, failure, generational trauma, and political power dynamics. NOT FOR: Readers who are looking for easy answers to complex problems, a beach read, action every other chapter, melodrama, despite the opening two chapters. Chapters 1 and 2 are designed to show you "what could be," and that needs to be seen first. As I will always say, I am willing to lose readers over this tonal shift. SENSITIVITY: Graphic Violence, Language, Light Surreal-Horror, Mental Health struggles and conversations. Sexuality is limited to a "Friendship/partnership relationship." rather than steamy male/female gaze, with the occasional compliment, passionate kiss and cuddle. I try to treat this subject with healthy respect. ZERO Explicit material or "taboo" subjects related to sexuality.

Ain't A Hero is a Science Fantasy, Slice of (Odd) Life set in the post post-cataclysm future where magic kicked down the door and flipped the tables on a near transhumanist cyber/bio-punk world. It's a 1000 years into the future where common magic, super tech, and strange history serve as a backdrop to the familiar modern life that has adapted to this new world. The story orbits around Bach, a down and out adventuring college dropout trying to get by. He watches the latest news report about his "chosen one" brother getting defeated by the Dark Lord Noxian. He can't believe how ridiculous it is, and his brother agrees. The ghostly visage of his brother sitting right next to him on the couch... agrees. Soon, Bach is figuratively AND literally dragged by into the adventuring life by his brother's adventuring party that shows up on his doorstep. The serialized fiction follows the lives of different people in this strange yet familiar world, and how they change given the ordinary and extraordinary situations they find themselves in.
