kendra bailey-park was born in houston,texas . her biological parents were drug addicts which led to kendra being taken away from them and put into a foster home at 2 months old . kendra was adopted by a korean woman named sunmi park who emigrated to the US from South Korea as a child . kendra and her mother move back to South Korea due to financial problems in hopes of a better life . kendra experiences the pros and cons about living in South Korea as a black woman and her life changes amazingly.
