After Rook took on the gods of ancient elven legend, she was left scarred -- not only from the wounds of war but from the mental strain brought on by the whole ordeal and the Dread Wolf himself. After being molded into the leader Solas needed her to become, she won the fight against the Evanuris. Despite being betrayed over and over by the "god of trickery," she chose to spare him and allow him to seek atonement as long as he kept the Veil in place. Rook felt as though her story ended here, while Inquisitor Lavellan felt that hers began again. Annessa Lavellan was given another chance at happiness with her true love, while Rook struggled to keep her romance life afloat with little to no avail -- at first. Two completely different stories, both heavy with healing. All of Thedas had healing of its own to do, and that wasn't going to happen without a lot of help from the Veilguard and those that came before them. This story is about grief and loss, about mending and healing, about fear and bravery, and about hate that runs deep and love that runs even deeper. This is a story about heroes -- no, everyday people. This is the continuation of Veilguards.

The first time Lucanis saw Rook, he thought a desire demon was attempting to entrance him. There was no other explanation for how the man of every fantasy he could ever imagine was right there in front of him-in the Ossuary, of all places. Then Rook spoke, and Lucanis was brought back to reality, because in his perfect fantasy, there was no way his dream man would speak with a Tevene accent. But Rook did. Then he loosed an arrow straight into a Venatori's face, instantly dropping him.
