Upon waking up in the middle of the night, Jaune Arc found, on his desk, a set of blank cards and a watch. He does not know where they came from, but he had instinctively knew he had to take them with him. The moment he reached for the watch, it jumped and latched on his wrist, recognizing his DNA and locking itself on to him. In his haste to try and remove the watch, he accidentally activated it, sending himself onto a new universe. Luckily for him, the casing for the blank cards had the same ability to latch onto him, on his waist.

As Jaune left his home in the middle of the night to travel to Vale and attend Beacon to become an aspiring Huntsman, he came across an amulet when he came upon a cave during a stormy night. He was curious and touched the item. From then on, every night, he would have dreams of three beings forging the amulet. Who were they? Why did they choose him? What makes him so special? A mysterious person happened to stumble upon him and saw the potential that he carried and thus changed Jaune's destiny, for the better or for the worst.
