"First you captivated me... then you held me captive." Evelyn was like most college-aged girls working a part-time job when she met Caleb, who came in to her life when she wanted him least but needed him most. He captivated her. By the end of summer, she had fallen in love with him. It was then that he wanted her to meet his parents. And that's when everything changed. Caleb was not the man Evelyn thought he was. He came from a secluded village that did things much differently from the rest of society. Isolated in one of the most sparsely populated areas of the country, it was as if they live in their own little world. They were a traditional village for the most part, but there were some aspects that they did much differently than any other, especially in the ways of courtship. It didn't take long for Evelyn to realize one thing: once you were brought home to meet the parents, there was no escape.

Tropes: Second Chance Romance • Small Town • Secret Baby • Childhood Best Friends to Lovers • Slow Burn • Forced Separation • Miscommunication • Found Family • Emotional Angst • Quiet Devotion He let her believe she didn't matter so she would leave. Indigo Hale and Jake Calder were supposed to escape Cedar Ridge together. Best friends turned first love. One scholarship. One truck. One last night before dawn. Jake never showed. Instead, he shattered her with words meant to hurt-because telling the truth would've made her stay. Indigo left anyway... and weeks later, discovered she was pregnant. Years pass. Cedar Ridge doesn't change. The ranch still stands. And Jake, older, quieter, bound by responsibility-never stopped carrying the weight of the choice that broke them both. When Indigo returns with a daughter who has Jake's face and none of his answers, the past refuses to stay buried. The town watches. Assumptions form. And love-unfinished, unhealed-demands to be faced. This isn't a story about forgiveness that comes easy. It's about love that survives silence. About fatherhood found, not claimed. And about the slow, aching truth that sometimes home is the one place you had to leave to understand.

After spending most of her life surrounded by the noise and chaos of the big city, Winnie Grant found herself yearning for something quieter-something real. When the restlessness became too loud to ignore, she did the unthinkable: she quit her job, packed away the pieces of her old life, and accepted a new position in Red Lodge, Montana-a small town where everyone knew everyone, and secrets traveled faster than the wind. As the city skyline disappeared in her rearview mirror, Winnie could only hope she was making the right choice. Her new home was everything she hadn't realized she needed-quiet, quaint, and surrounded by the kind of stillness that made her both uneasy and comforted. After a few days of settling in, curiosity (and perhaps a touch of loneliness) led her to the local bar-a warm, wood-paneled place that smelled faintly of pine and spilled whiskey. That was where she met him. Sheriff Ben Langley. The man everyone in town seemed to know, and more than a few wished would so much as glance their way. Steady, reserved, and impossibly grounded in this small-town life-he was the last kind of man Winnie expected to notice her. But that night, under the soft glow of the bar's lights, it was the newcomer-the woman with city eyes and a quiet kind of courage-who caught his attention.

"Really?" biting my lip, as he continued walking towards me. He reaches out and grabs my hip, "Mmhmm," smiling down at me. Swiftly, I grab his hand, turn him around, kick him right above the back of his knee, and pushes down so he's on his knees in front of me in a position of which I could brake his arm, "What a shame, 'cause personally, I don't like fuck boys with various STD'S." I look at all the men in the group who had their jaws dropped, all except for one, "Touch me one more time, and I'll brake your arm in two." I stand and kick his back so he falls on the concert. "Anyone else?" they stare at me blankly. "Didn't think so." When fuck boy tries to get up, I take my foot and slam him back down. Looking back at the boys, I say, "Later boys." Then, I turn and leave. ~~~~ Truce Mane is a girl who recently moved to New York with her youngest niece and nephew along with her uncle Mike. Truce went through many things as a child. She expected to persuade them to have trust in her idea and get her a loan. What she didn't expect was being shot at, nor did she expect a hot man, covered from head to toes in black, to save her.
