Pestilence falls in love with her and, for the first time, the true nature of his curse appears clear to him. But things never go as hoped for Pestilence. Eleanor leaves, so he sets out on a journey to find her. What he doesn't imagine is that his quest will lead him to confront an emotion he never expected: hatred. Only by experiencing true hatred, it turns out, can Pestilence break the curse that has bound him for so long. The story is told like a fairytale. A very dark one, for that matter.
