Nights, for the soldiers, are a time of peace. For Cassandra, they're an endless torture, her mind plagued by unclear visions of unending violence, and her dear city in flames. Unbearable, they had become, the visions that plagued Cassandra's body. The fear of not being able to do anything, having to bear the insurmountable weight of Troy's upcoming destruction, and being incapable of saving her beloved city. Her life had been ruined by the god she prayed to everyday. Her tears and cries had gone unheard. They called her mad, for thinking she'd actually seen the god with her one mortal eyes. But she had, she had seen him, him and his golden hair, and bright blue eyes. He had gifted her what she had wanted most, to foresee the future, but not without a price, and Cassandra, unknowing at that moment to what she had condemned herself to, accepted the gift. But when the realization hit her, it was too late, what she once thought would be a gift, would turn out to be an endless torture. She wanted to end her suffering, for it to finally be over, and go into the Underworld and to not have to see Troy burn. And she would have, if it hadn't been for her .
