" she rarely gets angry, but if she did, it's definitely terrifying " Novalene woke in an unfamiliar house, her mind a blank slate. She couldn't remember where she came from. Miss Peregrine, the stern yet kind headmistress, had taken her in her care, telling her who she is and what happened to her before she entered Miss Peregrine's home. Novalene could sense the lie behind the reassurance. The children in the house were peculiar, each with powers that defied logic. Novalene however, had none. She was ordinary-a stranger among the childrens. But her forgotten past cast a long shadow, one that threatened to disrupt the delicate peace of her new home. One boy, Enoch O'Connor, seemed especially drawn to her, his dark, possessive gaze filled with secrets he refused to share. As Novalene struggled to piece together her memories, whispers of the Hallowgasts-the monsters she couldn't recall but instinctively feared-grew louder. Her arrival wasn't a coincidence, and what she can't remember may be the key to her survival-or her undoing.
