This is a work in progress, currently available only on my Patreon. The chapters shared here are just teasers. https://www.patreon.com/c/JonaLeighBooks This story follows a man named West Steinberg, who betrays his wife, Bianca, with a woman named Faith. But this isn't a moment of weakness or regret. His betrayal runs deep, absolute, and intentional. There's no remorse, no hesitation, no turning back. It's a choice he fully commits to and believes in. At its core, this is a story about obsession, betrayal, and rage, and where those emotions can lead. In the end, it results in the murder of one of the women. The story is told entirely from West's perspective, capturing how he lived through those moments. There is no HEA. In fact, you'll know the ending from the very beginning. But there will be a twist. Please consider yourself warned. 😊

When Emi's husband forgets his phone one morning, it only takes a few messages for everything to fall apart. She returns the phone in the middle of a board meeting and walks away from the life that she thought was happy and secure. But after the fallout comes reality. The money isn't there. The stability wasn't real. And starting over with two kids in her mother's one-bedroom apartment is a lot harder than leaving was. As Emi rebuilds from nothing, turning a quiet passion for ikebana into something more, she begins to understand that just like the flowers, she needs space, support, and patience to come into her own. Her husband thinks she'll come back because there's no way she can do it all alone. But, he's wrong, about more than one thing.

Dylan Brennan has the corner office. The marriage. The five children. The life everyone sees and calls complete. So why does the laughter sound like it's coming from slightly too far away? At fifty-eight he has everything he spent thirty years building. He is not unhappy. He is finished. And for a man who has never stopped moving, finished is the worst thing to be. Then a woman named Riley walks into his life and for the first time in thirty years his mind goes quiet. For eleven months he is more alive than he has been in years. But she was never the answer. She was a vacation. And vacations end. MATURE CONTENT. This is not a typical romance. Expect complexity, not comfort. No villains, no neat endings - just choices and what they cost.

Clara My heart has belonged to Spencer Fisher since that day in high school, when he winked at me during Mrs. Doyle's chemistry class. For twelve years we've been together through the good, the bad, and everything in between. For twelve years I've stood by him and supported him and watched him as he realized every single one of his dreams. But when Spencer's father is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and he starts pulling away right when I need him most, we might have finally found the one thing that will tear us apart. Spencer I thought I had it made. But now I'm feeling it all slip away as the pressures of work and bills and hard decisions mount. And above all else, I have to watch my old man slowly wither away. I'm not used to feeling helpless, and now all I can do is watch the man who has always been larger than life to me die. I know Clara's doing her best to support me, but lately it feels like all I do is let her down. When my colleague introduces me to his sister Laney, it feels harmless at first. Laney listens without making demands. She's sympathetic. She reminds me to take care of myself. If she flirts occasionally and I find myself enjoying it? Well, that's probably harmless too. It's not like I'd ever act on anything. I'd never betray Clara. But the road to hell is paved with bad decisions, and by the time I realize what a fool I'm being, I might be too late to stop myself from losing the woman I love.

Katherine believes she has found her soulmate. She builds her life around that certainty. She trusts it completely. Cole feels something real. He just doesn't know how to name it. Or how to hold it the way she needs him to. What neither of them sees is how much of the past is still in the room with them. By the time it reveals itself, the foundation they trusted has already begun to fracture. Told through alternating timelines and perspectives, If It Had Ever Been Enough explores love shaped by unresolved trauma and what happens when devotion turns into something harder to survive. Not everything that feels like love is.

Long before I understood what marriage meant, I was promised to him- an arrangement made to bind our families together-and with it, my future to Ronin Byrne. I was the girl from Ireland-wide-eyed, raised to believe marriage was a sacred vow kept for life. He was the heir to Boston's Irish mob-his father's crown waiting to pass to him the moment we said "I do." I thought we were already partners. I thought he chose me. But Ronin set me straight the night I became his bride. In front of his men, in front of God and everyone who mattered, he showed me exactly what the promises he made to me were worth-nothing. He broke me with a smile as he walked away with another woman, leaving me standing in the wreckage of my own faith. He made his choice, and I made mine. I disappeared, covered my tracks, and buried the girl he broke-so deeply I hoped she would never resurface again. But the past has a way of finding you-no matter how well you bury it. And when the man who once ruled my heart-my husband-tracks me down to remind me that wives don't get to vanish, that I belong to him, he won't find the woman who loved him without question. The girl who gave him her whole heart no longer exists. If he wants me again, he'll have to decide how much he's willing to bleed to earn back what he destroyed. I'm Alannah O'Connell... and this is my heartbreak.
