Saying they're willing to share you, and actually sharing you are two completely different things. Their idea is great! In theory. Instead of anything entirely comfortable and smooth you have bickering at meetings over you - instead of anything that actually matters - and who gets to have you for the week. The way they refer to you is still slightly objectifying, but you know that they don't know any better. Mia is the only person who seems to remember that - hey - you're a person. Now you spend your mornings eating breakfast and trudging to the next lover's house and don't even talk about how much of a loud disaster it is when at the castle - those women can NOT share. [PROLOGUE] Mia feels the vaguest amount of guilt for lying. Ethan didn't deserve to be lied to, but it wasn't exactly like she could tell him she was off to do illegal experimentation on genetically altered children and go on her merry way. Instead, she lied and left, unable to even look at him for much longer than necessary. (It's the guilt she tells herself, not the way she cringes for a moment when he kisses her or how reluctant she is to be intimate with him, or the way she catches herself staring at other women.)
