He's been a part of a small, secret friend group since about a month after the first year began. Izuku Midoriya, Denki Kaminari, and Minoru Mineta made up the Depressed Trio or DT. They stuck with him throughout this, helping him raise the twins he bore, becoming the "fun uncles" and helping him as much as they could, being that Izuku has been resistant to accept help. In this world, ability users were prosecuted in society so they had to seal themselves in Yokohama city, allowing no one to enter or leave. While on the outside world, quirks had developed and the existence of ability users became forgotten with the rise of heroes and villains. The citizens of Yokohama are aware of what is going on in the outside world but think it's stupid to label someone as good or evil.
