They said the game was over. But what if the real game is the one that doesn't come with rules? No cards. No bluffs. Just looks that linger too long, silences that cut too deep, and a tension no one dares to name. Will Riri risk to play the most dangerous game? Will Mary dare to fall into an abyss of secrets? A slowburn you won't be able to look away from. This fanfic is inspired by the characters from the Netflix series "Bet". The writing, style, plot developments, dialogue, and scenes are entirely my own. Please do not copy, repost, translate, or modify this story without my explicit permission. Mary is curious - a bit too curious for her own liking. She wants to know why the vice president chose her, why she suddenly gained interest after Mary won the House War. But most importantly - Mary wants to know what's under her mask. Here's a little reimagining of the Bet series focused on Meari because I am obsessed with them. (Crossposted from AO3 uwu)

Riri Timurov, the quiet and enigmatic stepsister of Kira Timurov, had always kept to herself. Her silence wasn't just a habit, it felt like a carefully constructed barrier, shielding something deeper. Mary Davis, ever observant and quietly inquisitive, had long harbored a growing curiosity about Riri. There was something about her presence that seemed unfinished, a mystery waiting to be unraveled. Who was Riri, really? Mary couldn't help but wonder.

At St. Dominic's Academy power isn't earned through grades - it's earned through gambling, it's how power is won and reputations are built. The school's elite are all members of the feared Student Council, where only the strongest remain. Mary is a gambling queen - sharp-tongued, beautiful, cunning. She doesn't have friends, but she does have allies. Riri - the silent, unreadable girl who rarely speaks, barely gambles, and always lingers in the shadows of her older sister, the Student Council President. Mary and Riri have a strange relationship: not quite friends, not quite strangers. There's a tension between them - cold glances, soft silences, unspoken respect. Mary doesn't get why Riri never gambles. Riri doesn't explain. Still, they work in sync on the Council - until one day, they don't.

This is supposed to be a «continuation» of bet so this Fanfic takes place right after Riri said «do you want to get out of here?» to Mary. This is of course a romantic wlw fanfic about Mary and Riri from bet, it might include other ships too, but meariri is the main ship here and the story focuses mainly on their relationship and perspectives. That means other characters like Ryan or Michael will be underpriorotized as they don't have much connection with Mary nor Riri. The fic has now included Yumekira as a ship and their pov's are also there to add dept to the story. Yumeko's revenge will to a certain degree be here, as it will affect Meariri too. Remember this is just a fanfic and what is written might not be canon in season 2 of bet. Note: 1st chapter might start off cringe, but trust the process it's all a part of it. 2nd Note: Remember that when it's in a characters pov, we're seeing the actions and perceiving them from their perspective. If the same action would be from another characters pov then the reaction or perception may be totally different as everyone has their own ways of thinking.

Riri isn't used to being truly seen, even without her mask. Yet there's something quietly disarming and unexpectedly addictive about being known this way. Despite the secrets she carries, a fragile connection begins to form. Mary didn't expect much from the school's new mandatory letter writing initiative, just another quiet obligation after her fall from grace. But the anonymous student she's paired with is distant, careful, and gentle in a way Mary never realized she needed. Neither of them knows the other's true identity, but their words draw them closer-first on the page, and then, slowly, in real life. (aka the letter writing fanfic)
