Well, would you look at that. Irina thinks that, for once, she has had too much to drink. If not, how would you explain her hugging a fictional character from a novel? How are you even supposed to survive in a rationality-forsaken world?! Even a sneeze could kill you in here! Will the new Bookworm Pathway be enough? Will Irina raise her Sequence fast enough, or will she be consumed by madness first?

Facing Derrick's hopeful gaze, the Fool finally opened his mouth. "I am an evil god." The teenager continued to look at him, waiting for the end of his words. "Evil gods don't save people." Evil gods can't save people. -or, The Fool was a real evil god in the past, the kind that was mad and killed people. Staying sane is not easy when you are a deity. [Your author at the start of the fic didn't finish Circle of Inevitability yet so what actually happened to Klein in it does not apply here. Characters may be a bit OOC, this author can't tell. Updates should be monthly though I can't guarantee the consistency] After years of battle, Klein finally defeated Celestial Worthy. But just as he was about to summon the Tarot Club, he found himself back in time-before Gehrman Sparrow became the infamous mad adventurer. It wasn't like those time travel novels where the protagonist traveled back to the most favorable times, Klein couldn't make Sherlock Moriarty look more mature, he couldn't save Dunn Smith, he couldn't warn anyone about Old Neil's abnormal signs. Nonetheless, he had a second chance at life. He could fix past mistakes. Somehow, the Sefirah Castle was unaffected by the time travel, even Klein's junk pile remained unchanged. Out of all things, Arrodes traveled with him, and the Arrodes of the past was nowhere to be found in Church of the God of Steam and Machinery. The church was in an uproar as a result of that since a sealed artifact quietly went missing overnight. Klein wasn't able to keep his power as the lord of the mysteries but the Sefirah Castle was able to salvage a portion of his power, demoting Klein to a Miracle Invoker-hooray? Alger's delusions aren't entirely wrong anymore-Klein really has become an ancient deity struggling to regain his original power. Oh well, what was yesterday is now his tomorrow...

Before Klein mentioned it in the mausoleum, Azik had already felt for himself that memories-present as much as the past-were the key to his humanity. (snippets of Azik's perspective through canon)
