Phil adores spending time with 28 year old Milly Langdon and so decides on keeping it that way. Dan doesn't enjoy Milly's company so Phil decides it's best if he just moves on. Dan and Phil meet on the first day of their junior year of high school. They quickly become fast friends but Phil had secrets he keeps and Dan also keeps some of his struggles hidden. They try to navigate between friends and boyfriends throughout and it all ends happy because happy ending are the best.
