Tanjiro Kamado is considered a blessing by all those around him. His kindness and respect for all beings is controversial, but none oppose it. His family, the people he would give his life for, were killed whilst he was away. It broke his heart, but the survival of his younger brother, Takeo, helps Tanjiro find a new goal. Whilst if no one had survived, Tanjiro would have carried on being the cheerful boy everyone knew him as, he would allow himself the time to grieve. Now, with a younger brother turned into a demon, who has regressed to the mind of a three-year-old unless Tanjiro is in danger, Tanjiro doesn't allow himself time to grieve, instead focusing on finding a way to get a cure for Takeo and all demons.
