A love story about two cookies becoming enemies to lovers! Madeleine cookie, The Knight Commander of light who has a big ego and a big heart. Espresso cookie, a well known Professor in the Parfadian institute. Also the only mage left who studies pure coffee magic. Will both of them learn to be more than acquaintances? Lonely. That's what Madeleine's been ever since the mage left. Sure, he has other people. He has his fans, he has Latte, he has the Divine who so graciously granted him that pair of feathered wings upon his back. But it's just not the same, not anymore. Not without Espresso. So when he finally gets the chance to meet the man he once loved yet again, he won't pass up the chance to protect him. He won't let him go again, even if it means fighting until his very last breath. --- This story is an AU where everyone's "human", just with food names. There are actually quite a few nonhumans/monsters, both turned and born. Madeleine is a turned creature, given wings and feathers by the Divine. There are many other such creatures, including Espresso. If that makes you uncomfortable in any way, you've been warned. You don't have to read this, you know. Also there's gay (of course) and they're both transgender because I said so and I wanted to make Madeleine suffer period cramps. Don't be homophobic. I probably won't be adding smut to this one (though if I make a book 2 there might be), so don't get your hopes up. --- This cover was done by me in watercolor! I'm not bothering to add words to it. Average word count per chapter is 2-3k words. I'm trying my best with grammar and spacing, so I think it's clear what's going on. My first serious fic, yippee!
