It isn't easy, when you are just so imperfectly imperfect. * * * * For 19-year-old Raya, who has been imperfect and ugly, so much so she (and others) considered her a pig, thought she was finally beginning a new and "perfect" life after she got enrolled into one of the most prestigious universities at New York City, Ataraxia University. After years of humiliation, bullying, and body-shaming, Raya finally had a handsome and kind boyfriend who loved her for who she was. Or did he? Turns out, Raya's planned perfect life is not so perfect when she gets her heart broken, bumps into someone she would rather forget, and gets herself entangled into an unexpected scandal. A university assignment and odd pairings, a deal of fake-dating, along with the appearance of a new and odd person in her life, Raya navigates the ups and downs of adulthood, while also learning to love herself. The question is, would she succeed?

These were poems that I wrote over the years. Some of them made it into the cut of other books but I changed a lot and some just never will see the light of day.

This collection of poems is a heartfelt mix of different styles-tanaga, haiku, free verse, prose plus both short and longer pieces-that beautifully showcase the rich expression in Tagalog, Bisaya, and English.
