In the shadowy streets of Gotham City, where crime and chaos reign, a story begins to unfold between Bellamy Lynn, a girl whose world revolves around books and her dog, and Jason Todd, a vigilante known as the Red Hood. Their story begins in the hallways of Gotham Academy as classmates, but Bellamy is caught between both of Jason's identities, him as a civilian and his night-caped version. Just when she was about to act on her feelings, an unfortunate event occurred. When Jason suddenly disappears and is reported dead, she can't help but feel grief and emptiness. Five years later, a ghost of Bellamy's past reappears with blood in his eyes and a soft spot for her. Events of the past seem to be replaying all over again when she gets taken by a familiar grinning face. Jason fights with himself, unsure of whether he should still be involved in her life.
