A dragon without its rider is a tragedy. A rider without their dragon is dead. - Article One, Section One, The Dragon Rider's Codex "Anyone else feel like changing their mind?" Xaden shouts, scanning the remaining rows of cadets with the same shrewd gaze of the navy-blue dragon behind him. "No? Excellent. Roughly half of you will be dead by this time next summer." The formation is silent except for a few untimely sobs from my left. "A third of you again the year after that, and the same your last year. No one cares who your mommy or daddy is here. Even King Tauri's second son died during his Threshing. So tell me again: Do you feel invincible now that you've made it into the Rider's Quadrant? Untouchable? Elite?" No one cheers. Another blast of heat rushes - this time directly at my face - and every muscle in my body clenches, preparing for incineration. But it's not flames... just steam, and it blows back Rhiannon's braid as the dragons finish their simultaneous exhale. The breeches on the first-year ahead of me darken, the color spreading down his legs. They want us scared. Mission accomplished. "Because you're not untouchable or special to them." Xaden points toward the navy dragon and leans forward slightly, like he's letting us in on a secret as we lock eyes. "To them, you're just the prey." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Who is that?" "Rhae Sorrengail, the forgotten daughter. She's Violet's twin, they're nothing alike though. Violet is the calm before a storm, and Rhae is the hurricane. The anger and stubbornness of that woman are insane." "God forbid she and Xaden stay in the same room for too long. Someone would likely end up dead." Started: June 5, 2025. Wings of Blood follows Gia Tavis, the fierce younger sister of Garrick Tavis, as she struggles to adapt to life in the Riders' quadrant after growing up in the infantry. Her raw, unpolished fighting style clashes with the discipline of the Riders, but with the support of her brother and her best friend, Liam, she's determined to prove herself. When she's forced to work with Ridoc, a cocky and quick-witted Rider, sparks fly between them. Their rivalry soon turns into something more as they challenge each other both on and off the battlefield. Six years ago, Aelin Riorson was believed to have died at the hands of Colonel Aetos, with her brother Xaden helplessly watching as her throat was slit. But Aelin survived - and went into hiding, assuming the alias Lillian Parker to protect herself, her brother, and the rebellion. She looks little like Xaden, with pale skin, strawberry-blonde curls, and a gentle demeanor. But her mismatched eyes - golden onyx in one, emerald green in the other - and the knife scar across her neck are the undeniable clues to her true identity. Now, as she enters the Riders' Quadrant, Aelin must keep her past buried. She bonds with Zyphira, a dragon tied to her family's lost legacy, and her signet manifests a dangerous power: a fusion of light and shadow, like her brother's own. As Aelin grows closer to Liam, another rebel, the weight of her secrets grows heavier. But when Xaden begins to question the night she died, her carefully constructed life begins to unravel. In a world where secrets can kill, Aelin's survival hinges on keeping her true identity hidden - but the truth may be impossible to deny. ALL RIGHTS BELONG TO REBECCA YARROS EXCLUDING MY OWN O/C

Being marked is a curse. Being a Riorson? A death sentence. Verena Riorson-sister to Xaden Riorson, daughter of Fen Riorson, the kingdom's most hated traitor-wasn't raised, she was reforged. Life didn't just shove her down-it beat her bloody and taught her to crawl in silence. Mercy? That word died the day her father did. After the execution, she wasn't fostered with a kind family like the others. No, the kingdom handed her over to the Velmires-a family that worshipped loyalty and burned hatred into the bones of every Marked child they touched. They didn't just punish her for her bloodline. They broke her for it. Rebuilt her into a weapon so sharp, even the gods would flinch. She begged once. Covered in blood, trembling on her knees, she whispered for mercy. The Velmires taught her what a mistake that was. She never asked again. Now she wears her scars like armor. Each mark carved into her back is proof that she survived the kind of hell no one walked out of whole. And Xaden? Her beloved older brother? He never came. Never searched. Never cared. Not until it was too late. The little sister he remembered-the kind-hearted, bright-eyed girl who clung to his hand-is long dead. In her place stands something else. Something colder. Stronger. Unforgiving. She's done hiding the monster they created. Done pretending the fire inside her wasn't born to burn kingdoms down. Verena Riorson has come to remind them all why they should've killed her when they had the chance. And gods help the ones who ever thought they broke her-because now? She's the storm they'll never survive.

Eleanor was never meant to survive this long. But now that she has-she's not sure who she is anymore. The war has reached a breaking point. Navarre is crumbling from the inside out, tangled in bloodshed, backroom politics, and betrayals disguised as strategy. Len was forged for battle, trained to kill-but nothing prepared her for this kind of war. The kind where words are as sharp as blades, and allies might be enemies in disguise. As time runs out, Len finds herself walking a path her mother once warned her about. The lines between hero and monster are blurring. The darkness inside her-once caged-is waking, hungering, changing her. With Nox at her back, and Garrick at her side, Len is a weapon ready to be unleashed. But love is no longer her anchor-it's her weak point. And in this war, weakness is fatal. As gods reach down and monsters rise up, Len must choose who she's willing to become to survive. A savior? A destroyer? Or something far, far worse. Because the phoenix doesn't rise to save the world. She rises to remake it.
