But his hopes of protecting his daughter ended when Howland Reed stabbed him in the back and Ned landed the killing blow. The Lord of Winterfell took two children back North with him. Evelyn Dayne was taken along with Jon Snow to be raised by the Starks. Though she is not a bastard, Evelyn was never told what happened to her father. She knew of him and his legendary reputation, but the death of her father remains a mystery. They were raised amongst wolves. Evelyn and Jon Snow are pushed into the Great Game when Robert Baratheon comes to proclaim their father the Hand of the King.
