Every chapter is a new betrayal from one of the little nightmares kid. Mono could betray Six, Six could betray him in other ways, RK could betray Six, The Raincoat Girl could betray Six. Basically all the kids could betray one another in different scenarios. So kick back and relax as the kids betray one another.

I find myself in a room with a music box, there's drawings on the wall with chalk, I look around but there seems to be no way out. I look at the music box in front of me and I notice it's blue with an eye on it. I smile and start turning the handle. Music floats around the room and I'm soon lost in the melody. Suddenly there's a crashing sound and I scramble under the table behind me. The bottom of the door leading into my room breaks apart as a boy with a paper bag on his head busts through with an axe. He looks at me, drops the axe, and walks forward. He crouches down and holds out his hand. "Hi, I'm Mono."

Book 2 of 4 Six regrets dropping Mono. She regrets leaving him behind. She regrets hating him in the end. And most of all. She regrets not telling him she loved him too. Now she must traverse the Maw alone. Six decides to return to The Pale City after she makes it out of the Maw. If she makes it out of the Maw.

Mono will do anything for Six. Even if that means being betrayed over and over just to keep her safe. It kills him when she does it but he'll do ANYTHING to keep her safe. Even if that means becoming the Thin Man over and over again. Getting his feelings hurt over and over. Will it ever change? Book 3 of 4 Six has escaped from the Maw, she has now returned to the Pale City. She needs to know if Mono is alive or not. She faces new monsters, old monsters, and painful memories are everywhere. Will she make it to the one place she hates the most, the one place she needs to go, the one place she left Mono. The Signal Tower. Will she make it or will she fall victim to monsters.

book 4 of 4 Six has ended up in the place of Mono after he went all sadistic Thin Man on her. She now has to traverse through everything Mono went through. He wanted her to know how it felt for him every time the loop started over. But there's one problem. Mono could remember how to fight the monsters, Six has no clue what she's up against. With both his and her memories gone they have no clue how to stay safe in this world. Will they survive, or will they fall victim to the monsters? Or worse, the Signal Tower?
