It was Friday's evening, and the time was coming close to the moment Shu Xue would be closing the store. Her boyfriend, Zhao Wentu, had finished his evening lecture and was already waiting to walk her home. Just as she was putting some change into the cash register, one of the last few clients, a man wearing a mask and a hood disguising his appearance, walked up to her. She saw something in his eyes, covered by the shadow of the hood, that made a warning alarm go off in her head.

"So long as you still want me, my life is yours." 154 spoke softly, gently, "No matter what happens to the System, to me... I'll hold out, until the end of time. For you." Wen Yuan looked up at 154, deep into those beautiful, golden eyes... and realized that this was what 154 wanted was well. "Tell me to stay," his gaze seemed to say, "Give me a reason to hold on." "Then, please, wait for me." Wen Yuan pressed his forehead against 154's lightly, "Let me Guide you to the end of this boundless world."

[The free service of Planetary System 8612 has been terminated.] You Huo, Qin Jiu, and Wen Yuan could feel their hearts dropping. [The main scenario has started.] ... Not this fucking bullshit again! "Don't you just love disembodied voices telling you to do shit for survival?" Qin Jiu asked in a joking tone, but it was clear from his eyes that he didn't find this funny at all.

OneShot Post Extra Chapter: The Revenant "As I was saying, before I was so rudely interrupted," Qin Jiu continued, "You might want to look out for one extremely clingy 922." "You don't say..." 154 muttered sarcastically, before half-heartedly attempting to wiggle out of Wen Yuan's grip, "922, let go of me. You literally saw me yesterday." "You left me ONE message and then disappeared for two whole years!" Wen Yuan wailed, hugging 154 tighter, "You owe me at least two years worth of hugs."

Upon meeting 154 for the first time... 922 couldn't help but notice that the rumors about him were all correct... but also, completely wrong. 154 was harmless. He just seemed... a little neurotic. ... 922 felt a very strong urge to take care of his friend; to just burrito wrap him in a blanket and shield him from the horrors of the System. Poor 154. What had happened to him in the past, to result in this? ---- Can be considered a prequel to "The Abstract Concept of Non-Binary Love", but anything talking about pre-canon can be considered a prequel, I guess-

"Can't? Locked out?" 001 raised an eyebrow; 154's always been able to look up violation details without any problems, but now, he's suddenly unable to do it? Because what, some psycho examinee decided to attack him for no reason? He pulled up the violation details on his own phone. It took some time to respond, but the violation details finally loaded in. 【Violator: Invigilator 154】 【System Security Threat】 【Invigilator violated the rules by -】 001 blinked. If he had done that just a second earlier, he would have missed the original statement before it was abruptly deleted and altered. The original statement had been: 【Invigilator violated the rules by displaying irrational behaviors and humanistic characteristics.】

Wen Yuan glared at "154", like he was the cause of all his problems, but "154" just stared back at him in confusion. He opened his mouth, almost like he wanted to rebut, like their usual banters, but Wen Yuan immediately cut him off. "I know you're a fake NPC and all, but if you didn't have such a pretty face, I'd totally have punched your lights out." Wen Yuan grumbled, crossing his arms with a huff. Gao Qi nearly choked on his own saliva as Qin Jiu did his best to stifle his sniggers from his seat at the front of the car.

"Live your life for the both of us." 154 closed his eyes, "That will be the proof that I have once existed." This was the only thing that Wen Yuan could promise for now. Wen Yuan held 154 like he was the most precious, exquisite treasure in the entire world, because that was what 154 was to Wen Yuan. And they stood there in silence. No amount of words could ever be used to explain the complex emotions that rushed through them, emotions that they themselves barely understood.
