After hesitating, Shadow opened the door and followed the sounds down the hallway to the main entrance. There were bolts of blue lighting dancing across the room, and guards went down left and right by something too fast for anyone to see. The guards fired into the room, panicked, but the blue blur of lighting was relentless and soon no one was left standing. Shadow stood at the edge of the room, eyes and mouth agape as the blue blur finally stood still, standing over the unconscious guards. It was a hedgehog! It looked like- "Shadow," Maria breathed out, appearing beside Shadow. "He looks just like you."

After his complicated relationship with his childhood friend and rival Shadow takes a turn for the worst, and fully realizing they can never be more than what they currently are, he faces heartbreak. Sonic then makes a desperate wish on a book his grandfather wrote in hopes that the future can be different, before finding himself pulled into the very lands of Camelot that it spoke of - facing the challenges of a foretold prophecy of a new kingship that he never wanted, battling against a darkness that wishes to destroy Camelot, and working with a mysterious knight who looks just like the one who broke his heart but swears his life to Sonic instead; a knight who makes him learn what love can truly be like.

What if Sonic was the one who found Shadow and woke him up? After Tails studies the Master Emerald as a way to track chaos energy should anything ever happen to it, a startling discovery was made. Tracking a high amount of chaos energy from a GUN facility, the trio break into the base to check it out. And as Sonic explores, he discovers a hedgehog just like him, and is determined to set him free. I technically have this as a series on AO3, but I plan to have it as one fic here.
