Falling in love is a wondrous affair, full of emotion, indulgence, adventure. But falling in love is an utterly discrete occasion, when the one you love is 429 miles away...

Second story to 429 Miles: Why wasn't it me? It should have been me.

Cole was the perfect guy. Audrey was the perfect girl. They had the perfect life together. They were so in love, what could possibly go wrong? One night at a back-to-school bonfire, everyone got too drunk, especially Cole. Xavier, Cole's best friend, started to forcefully kiss Audrey. Cole ran over to them, but the next minute was all a blur. Cole looked down to see Xavier lying dead on the ground. Panicking, Cole stumbles back, and turns to see Audrey. His last words to her were "I promise I will come back to you, baby. I love you always and forever." Then Cole vanished off into the night.

Finn Baker's life has been filled with madness for most of her 13 years and by now, it is something she has grown to accept. Maybe it's because her oldest brother and her father have supported her and loved her enough to make up for her absentee mother; maybe it's because her small group of friends see her as more than just her illness; or maybe it's because she has simply realized that she is fighting a losing battle and is better off accepting her fate now. Whatever the reason, Finn has a long road ahead of her but will it make her stronger or will it ultimately destroy her?

A wife goes mad on the night of her marriage and her husband is left alone in an empty house. Filled with despair and longing, he sets out on a dream-filled voyage to find her.
