My shadow has a life of its own. It crawls . . . it screams . . . it kills. It's been years since Rue Baker killed her little brother. Everyone believed it was an accident, but Rue knows the truth, even worse, she lives in fear of one truth, it would happen again. In the rainy town of Serpent's Creek, a strange storm is brewing. For Rue Baker, it takes an accident that claims her brother's life to realize that the shadows she cast on walls are no ordinary extensions of herself, but ancient fiends bounded to her blood by those who had come before her. Chaos follows her like moth to light until she is drawn to a mysterious group of teenagers led by the charismatic Jack Blackwater. He has got it all- wealthy family, good looks, and even better, like her he possesses a strange affinity for influencing minds. But just as she makes a home amongst his dark and sinister group, trouble stirs in the form of an age-long blood feud. St Dennis boasts some of the brightest minds in a minor seminary. But there has always been something strange about its young Priests in training, especially Lucien de Legrand. He hardly smiles, disappears when the sun goes down, utterly numb to physical and emotional pain, but his newfound friendship with Rue has been growing steadily, a strain to his coming oath of celibacy. There is something about this forbidden attraction that transcends blasphemy . . . it reeks of vengeance . . . it smells like death.

At first, it seemed like a second chance to a new life, the transformation from zero to hero. But after an encounter with a rabid gang of men suffering an acute insanity, he soon comes to understand that he is one of many discarded into the wasteland to study the cannibalistic effects of a new drug called the Sixth Sense. Olivia Patterson has had one too many doses of the Sixth Sense and owes a massive debt to a shadowy rebel and loan shark called Death-Throe. Being the daughter of the City's dictator, she knows too well that the gallows awaits any who associates with the rebel. In an attempt to free herself, she acquires an asset in the form of Runner and finds herself always at the edge, for if he survives it means freedom for both, but if he dies...

{Busy rewriting} ** Book One ** Blanchefleur isn't exactly a perfect Princess; she knows it, her parents know it, everybody else knows it, though the fact had long since been accepted. But when she bonds with a young dragon named Zjarr, it is like she opened the door for trouble. Not only does she (sort of) set of a war with a neighboring Kingdom, but she also (kind of) forces an ancient prophecy onto herself, her dragon and a young man from the castle, Robin. In order to save her continent, Blanchefleur will have to learn a great deal of new things, travel to new places, make allies, and above all, she needs to stay alive. A long forgotten evil rises again, and she will need to face it sooner or later.
