Vesper Sitara was raised to be a legacy. Daughter of two infamous Tyrrish assassins, she arrives at Basgiath War College with one goal: to make her parents proud and ensure their name is never forgotten. While others fight to survive the Riders Quadrant, Vesper intends to conquer it-blade, bone, and fire. Placed under the command of Xaden Riorson, the ruthless wingleader tasked with keeping the marked ones alive, Vesper quickly becomes a problem he can't control. He demands restraint. She was raised for rebellion. Every clash between them burns sharper than the last-and no matter how hard she tries, she can't seem to stay away from him, even when she knows exactly how dangerous that is. As her first year unfolds, Vesper gains power: a dragon as savage as she is, and a place in a quiet rebellion growing beneath Navarre's rule. But chasing her parents' legacy means stepping deeper into blood, secrets, and a war that is far from over. Vesper Sitara didn't come to Basgiath to survive. She came to become a legend-even if it kills her.

Book Two She was never meant to rule. That doesn't mean she won't control those who do. After the King's sudden death, Elara Sorrengail is forced into a role she never asked for-Duchess, rider, and unwilling player in a political game she knows all too well. Her cousin now wears the crown. And while he may sit on the throne, Elara has no intention of letting him destroy everything Xaden and the rebellion had been working towards. Because power isn't about who rules. It's about who they listen to. But court politics are only the beginning. War is coming. Alliances are shifting. And Basgiath is now longer a semi safe place, because Varrish has arrived. Elara is learning to trust Kaerith again, but it is hard when she doesn't know if he will be more loyal to his parents, or her--his rider. Xaden Riorson is still her husband who has been keeping secrets. Garrick Tavis is still a steady presence keeping her sane. And whatever exists between the three of them? It's only getting more intertwined. Her signet is changing....evolving. Light no longer behaves the way it used to. And something new is beginning to stir beneath it. With enemies closing in and tension rising on every front, Elara will have to decide: Will she play their game? Or will she be the one pulling the strings?

Elara Ravelle is the kind of girl who punches first and never bothers asking questions later. Doing it first instead of asking for permission. So what happens when she enters someone else's story? Growing up in a world where loyalty is currency and violence is survival, she's made a living off instinct and grit. So when she wakes up one day in the brutal, magic-fueled world of Fourth Wing, her first reaction isn't fear-it's strategy. Survival. Here, at Basgiath War College, death is part of the curriculum. Dragons choose their riders-or kill the ones they find unworthy. Cadets are trained to become soldiers in a war most won't survive. And Elara? She's not even supposed to exist in this world, let alone thrive in it. But returning home means going back to the streets, to blood-soaked pavement and enemies who don't need magic to end you. So she makes her choice eventually: stay, fight, and figure out how the hell she landed in a fantasy war zone before it eats her alive. One thing's for sure-Elara never plays by the rules. And Basgiath has no idea what it just dragged in. Xaden x foc

Which is why when the Blythe Kingdom sided with Aretia, Navarre took the kingdom and the King, and not long after did Aretia fall as well. And when the leaders of the rebellion finally burned, Diana Coretta and Xaden Riorson swore to continue the apostasy in their name. Elara Sorrengail has always been the rebellion's favorite sunshine girl. Born Tyrrish, raised between Aretia and the Navarre, she grew up with three dangerous boys at her side-Bodhi Durran, Garrick Tavis, and Xaden Riorson. One of the was her best friend. Two of them became her lovers. One of them graduated and became her secret husband. But when the rebellion fell, Elara was torn away from them all. Now she's back at Basgiath, marked, deadly, and done hiding. Her arrival sparks a storm: -Xaden is the Wing Leader who can't afford to break. -Garrick is the second-in-command who still bleeds for her. -Bodhi, her best friend, and chaotic other half. -Violet, her cousin, bonds the dragon whose mate belongs to Xaden... which means Elara's husband has to protect Violet to protect the dragons. (Yeah. Awkward is an understatement.) But Elara didn't come to Basgiath to play nice. She came to reclaim her men, survive the parapet, and earn her place in the Riders Quadrant-not as a Sorrengail, but as a Riorson. And when her signet awakens? It's stronger than anyone expected. Stronger than Violet. Stronger than Xaden. Stronger than Basgiath is ready for. Powerful enough to expose secrets...and destroy anyone who threatens the people she loves. War is coming. Dragons are choosing sides.

Being marked is a curse. Being a Riorson? A death sentence. Verena Riorson-sister to Xaden Riorson, daughter of Fen Riorson, the kingdom's most hated traitor-wasn't raised, she was reforged. Life didn't just shove her down-it beat her bloody and taught her to crawl in silence. Mercy? That word died the day her father did. After the execution, she wasn't fostered with a kind family like the others. No, the kingdom handed her over to the Velmires-a family that worshipped loyalty and burned hatred into the bones of every Marked child they touched. They didn't just punish her for her bloodline. They broke her for it. Rebuilt her into a weapon so sharp, even the gods would flinch. She begged once. Covered in blood, trembling on her knees, she whispered for mercy. The Velmires taught her what a mistake that was. She never asked again. Now she wears her scars like armor. Each mark carved into her back is proof that she survived the kind of hell no one walked out of whole. And Xaden? Her beloved older brother? He never came. Never searched. Never cared. Not until it was too late. The little sister he remembered-the kind-hearted, bright-eyed girl who clung to his hand-is long dead. In her place stands something else. Something colder. Stronger. Unforgiving. She's done hiding the monster they created. Done pretending the fire inside her wasn't born to burn kingdoms down. Verena Riorson has come to remind them all why they should've killed her when they had the chance. And gods help the ones who ever thought they broke her-because now? She's the storm they'll never survive.

A dragon without its rider is a tragedy. A rider without their dragon is dead. - Article One, Section One, The Dragon Rider's Codex "Anyone else feel like changing their mind?" Xaden shouts, scanning the remaining rows of cadets with the same shrewd gaze of the navy-blue dragon behind him. "No? Excellent. Roughly half of you will be dead by this time next summer." The formation is silent except for a few untimely sobs from my left. "A third of you again the year after that, and the same your last year. No one cares who your mommy or daddy is here. Even King Tauri's second son died during his Threshing. So tell me again: Do you feel invincible now that you've made it into the Rider's Quadrant? Untouchable? Elite?" No one cheers. Another blast of heat rushes - this time directly at my face - and every muscle in my body clenches, preparing for incineration. But it's not flames... just steam, and it blows back Rhiannon's braid as the dragons finish their simultaneous exhale. The breeches on the first-year ahead of me darken, the color spreading down his legs. They want us scared. Mission accomplished. "Because you're not untouchable or special to them." Xaden points toward the navy dragon and leans forward slightly, like he's letting us in on a secret as we lock eyes. "To them, you're just the prey." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Who is that?" "Rhae Sorrengail, the forgotten daughter. She's Violet's twin, they're nothing alike though. Violet is the calm before a storm, and Rhae is the hurricane. The anger and stubbornness of that woman are insane." "God forbid she and Xaden stay in the same room for too long. Someone would likely end up dead." Started: June 5, 2025. Finished:

They tried to break her. Torture her. Kill her. Instead, they forged her into a weapon. Now Eleanor Riorson-Tavis, Queen of Orlyth, wages war not only against the Venin, but against Navarre and the very gods themselves. The Balance is fractured, magic is unraveling, and with the Shadewing Den reborn, her name has become prophecy and curse alike. With Garrick at her side, Noodle in her shadow, and Nox and Chradh above, Eleanor has built an empire of monsters-and she will tear the world apart piece by piece to protect what remains of her family. Her kill count climbs. Her mercy burns to ash. Her humanity slips further from reach with every battlefield she leaves empty. But victory comes at a cost. And the deeper she walks into madness, the clearer it becomes: this was never just war. It is a reckoning. It is the endgame. Because Eleanor isn't fighting to save the world anymore. She's fighting to remake it. And when the dust settles, history won't call her hero or villain. It will call her what she has always been: Oblivion.
