Lydia Brenner had few memories of her childhood. She had never questioned the three formative truths she'd clung to for long as she could remember:
1. 10 years ago, Dr. Martin Brenner had rescued her from the psychotic child-testing laboratory he'd been doing research for,
2. They'd fled, as father and daughter, to unassuming Hawkins, Indiana where she'd tried for years to mend the gaps and empty places that remained in every part of her
and...
3. She was devastatingly and irrevocably devoted to the memory of a boy and his haunting blue eyes- the one her papa insisted had been a figment of the fractured, comfort-starved mind of a child.
She'd never questioned it-until she could no longer deny herself the one thing she'd known inherently, the one thing she hadn't needed to be told: the exact shade and feeling she would recognize immediately if the deepest desire of her heart were to ever miraculously materialize before her.
And, somehow, it had.
Somehow, they were here now: real, raw, undeniably his.
Familiar. Devastating. So very blue.
They were here-and they were staring at her.
