Did Aru want to go to the new years party? No. Would she rather be on her couch in her pajamas watching Lord of the Rings while eating way too much Swedish Fish? Who wouldn't? Her father. Her father wouldn't. He wanted her to go there and "socialize" which was code for "you need to find someone to marry because your life's really sad". It was some party for his law firm he started with one of his friends too, not even like a rager which would've been mildly fun. Aiden's father was a crappy one at best. So when Aiden's dad made him the photographer at some stupid new years party that he was throwing for his law firm, of course he protested. But he couldn't look at his mom so happy about it and still tell her that he didn't wanna do it. So he was still the photographer. Shit. Then a boy walked in and pretending to be her boyfriend so she wouldn't look at an idiot. And of course that boy has to be Aiden Acharya, whom she supremely embarrassed herself in front of. Aiden needs an excuse. He needs an out with his family...issues, so when Brynne asks him to help out Aru by pretending to be her boyfriend, he thinks, "Why not continue it?" - An Aruden college fake dating AU "𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭..."

Major spoilers for all the books. There is an unfortunate lack of Aru Shah fanfiction on the Internet, so I decided to write my own. A lot of Aru x Aiden because I love them, as well as other ships, a lot of angst and fluff, incorrect quotes, and more!

(Aru x Aiden forever :D) (Also, this takes place right after Aru Shah and The City Of Gold.) The first time that the pandavas met Kamadeva, it went well. They returned his bow, and he gave them magical gifts. This time, however, things go sour. Kamadeva curses Aru, saying that she is doomed to fall in love with someone who didn't love her back. (Looks like he learned a few tricks from Aphrodite...) Fortunately... that curse might not be true. Aru's POV- I've always liked Aiden. Forever, and ever, and ever... But now he knows. I just feel SO AWKWARD around him. (I mean like, more than I already do, obviously.) After he kissed me... we both try to forget it ever happened, even if I don't want to. I... I feel like he wants nothing to do with me. Actually, I don't think that kiss changed anything. We still try our best to avoid talking to each other one-on-one. That might not be possible with Kamadeva's curse though... Aiden's POV- I've always thought of Aru as a friend for the past few years, but somewhere along the way... things changed. I started to view her differently. I noticed things that I never did before... The way her hair was always tucked behind her ear, the way that her skin glowed when she was in battle, the way her eyes were filled with such beauty... Why am I noticing them now? Did... something change between us? And my biggest question of all... why DID I kiss her?

"It's not hero....It's heroine!" Arundhati Shah is the grandaughter of Lord Indra, a prestigous noble. She is the second born in the family and has five sisters. She never knew her father. Aru is also about to get married off to Rudy, the cousin of the prince, but does not want to. A letter arrives one day stating that each family must send one man off to join the army, but Indra is the only man in the house and is injured in his leg. Aru has taught herself how to fight(though she is not very good at it) so Aru takes his place and runs away to join the army with the help of four of her sisters. There she meets prince Aiden and a blossoming love grows. Old memories are revealed, sacrifices are made, and Aru must keep her identity secret and not let anyone, not even Aiden, know. Join Aru as she fights the Sleeper and his army, to stop him from overthrowing the king and overtaking all of ancient India! Plus Aru has a mini pet elephant named Airavata! He can make tiny clouds!
