His belief is shaken the first time he witnesses the death of a patient: a young girl, Luna Lucas, whom he had grown close to through his care. The girl leaves behind an unusual final wish-to be remembered. Before her death, she gives Henry a pencil and a book and asks him to draw her heart and brain, hoping her existence might be preserved, even briefly. Grief consumes him. But when he begins to draw using her pencil, Luna starts to speak to him in his dreams. Drawn deeper into this strange connection, Henry begins sketching the hearts and minds of other patients in the hospital, only to find that they too visit him in his sleep. Haunted and inspired, he decides to create a manga, shaping characters from the memories of the deceased and writing their stories as they appear to him.

She speaks with her heart in her hands, lets herself go, trusts him without knowing who he really is. And that throws him into crisis. He desires her, but he can't afford her. A sincerity he isn't capable of giving. Aurora has never felt interest in anyone-she's never been with any boy. Yet being close to him ignites desires and sensations she can't name. Tom is ironic, brilliant, magnetic. An arrogant show-off with freckles and a breathtaking smile. But behind those smiles there's something that doesn't add up. A shadow she senses without being able to define it. And yet she can't stop choosing him. Even when everyone around her keeps warning her.

Eddie Munson thought he knew how his final senior year would go, but everything changed when a class project with Chrissy Cunningham sets off a chain of events that lands him face-first in the middle of Hawkins' supernatural war. And then there's Steve- exiled to the sea and bound by magic only a true love's kiss can break. When a storm crashes their worlds together, Eddie and Steve find themselves on opposite sides of the shore but fighting for the same thing: the people they love. TL;DR: Found family, grief, merman lore, identity, platonic true love, and Steve Harrington absolutely not coping with being a magical sea creature. 🥈Fantasy in the Writer at Heart Awards🥈 🥉Fanfiction in the Astral Arena Loom's Awards🥉
