I read a Tumblr post while back about Odysseus meeting and adopting the prophet Cassandra, who had been cursed so that "Nobody would believe her." Of course, if he's going to adopt Cassandra, whom he never met in the original story... why not adopt the kid he was supposed to toss over a wall, and perhaps change the fate of what's supposed to happen along the way? But having a seer on board is not as helpful as I (or he) thought it would be... The goal is once again to keep everybody alive on the journey home, but the gods have different plans for Odysseus and his crew, and they may be bigger than one mortal man can handle.
