Apple has been in love with Lennox since she was a little girl. He is her father's best friend-the handsome, older "Tito" she swore she would marry one day. But to Lennox, Apple is just a kid he promised to look after. He sees himself as her guardian, never a lover.
Apple's heart breaks when Lennox finally brings another woman into his office. Seeing them together makes her realize that, in his eyes, she will always be just a little girl.
Hurt and rejected, Apple gets dangerously drunk one night. In a blur of passion and alcohol, she and Lennox cross a line they can never uncross.
Waking up the next morning, Apple is filled with shame. She knows she can't stay. She refuses to let him stay with her out of "duty" or guilt. Without a word, she disappears.
Now, Lennox is frantic. He thought he only cared for her as a child, but now that she's gone, he realizes he can't live without the woman who might be carrying his child.
