Mistreated and malnourished, little Hiccup doesn't understand why most everyone on Berk hates him. Gobber notices the abuse and steps in, but things quickly spiral out of control and the only way to keep Hiccup safe is to smuggle him off of Berk and into the hands of their allies. After the final battle with Scar leaves Kion and Makini missing and presumed dead, the lion guard is left behind - and the Pridelands left in shock. But Kion has no time to look back. With Danger rising and a new path ahead, he begins a journey that will test his strength, his heard, and his destiny. Far from home Kion finds himself in a land of healing, challenge and unexpected bonds.

When Jasiri offers Janja a place into her Clan, Janja refuses to join. But unexpectedly, he starts falling for her and no matter how many times he denies it, the feelings for Jasiri just get stronger and they start meeting up secretly at night. But as he starts falling for Jasiri, Janja starts to realize that he is risking his clan's safety with Scar around and is risking his own life as well. Will Janja continue to risk his life for Jasiri? Or will he turn his back on Jasiri?

What if Kion never made it to the Tree of Life? What if the venom in his scar was too much for him? When their leader dies along the journey to find healing for his scar, the Guard must find their own healing as they face this great loss. Fuli finds the reins of leadership unexpectedly thrown upon her as she and Kion spend their last moments together. Some members of the Guard may take longer to heal than others, but Fuli must find the strength to keep her team united in this difficult time.

After Kion gives up the Roar and his duties as the Fiercest of the Lion Guard, he asks his teammates to accompany him to the Tree of Life so he can be with Queen Rani. However, Fuli sees this a betrayal and believes it undermines everything they have worked for. After years apart, the Pridelands are on edge as a neighbouring Cheetah Coalition threatens a war with King Simba. Kion is forced to return to his homeland and sacrifice his happiness for the sake of peace. The one thing that can prevent a war is a betrothal between the Prideland Prince and the Cheetah Coalition Heiress. "Everything I do is for the Kingdom".

While hunting, Fuli is taken away from Kion, her mate. She finds herself alone, miles away from her love. Nothing will stop her from returning to those she loves.

This story takes place moments before Kion's coronation, rewriting the last scene of season 3. What new challenges will Kion have to face as King? Will he be able to help Rani of will he just fall apart? What new enemies threaten the circle of life?
