Cassandra Luna Parker and Matthew Edmund Springer, Best friends since the third grade, when he moved in across the street. Cassandra had been all alone on that street, no other kids to play with. Well, except for her sister, and her sister's friend- Logan. Logan and Kaitlyn mostly spent half the time at Cassandra and Kaitlyn's house, and the other half at Logan's, ignoring the people around them. Cassandra and Matthew grew up together, practically inseparable. That is, until sophomore year. Sure Matthew wasn't out of shape, he loved running, but he never mentioned an interest in sports. He never even talked about games, but him and Cassandra generally made a bet on games based on the statistics he knew, for all the Cheetos they could manage from the cupboard, against his dad, once in a while in middle school. He'd never talked about adventures he'd gone on with other friends, let alone ever seen talking to anyone "popular", he was always with the girl with awe-filled eyes, that knew too much about the world and wanted to know more. Never even talked about a party until he made the football team, even though he'd played little league since before Cassandra had even met him. Never even mentioned this one until the hour before. And if it hadn't for that party, maybe they would've been okay. But they aren't, and won't be. Not now.
