None of the girls ever sat in front of him at school; Patrick Hockstetter unsettled them all. There was something about him-something unhinged, something dangerous-that made people's skin crawl.
FINISHED AND COMPLEATED
Then he saw her. She looked like an angel, and Patrick, with his crooked smile and cold eyes, couldn't help but wonder how easily he could ruin her. The only problem was, she was the school jock's girlfriend-and Patrick, along with the Bowers gang, hated the football team with a special kind of venom.
He told himself he didn't care, that it was just curiosity pulling him toward her. Still, he trailed her through the halls, brushing his fingers against her whenever they passed, savoring the way she shivered and never quite realized why.
Love was for normal people-psychopaths like Patrick couldn't feel it. But wanting was something else, and when Patrick wanted something, he always found a way to get it, no matter how long he had to wait. He could be patient-until he couldn't.
And if he had to break someone, or worse, to make the pretty angel his, Patrick would do it without a second thought.
"How much can an angel endure before she falls?"
