It's cold. Dark. I hear them in the distance. I can't run anymore. My breathing is ragged. Dirt filled tears streaked my cheeks. I'm running fast, but with limp. My ankle is twisted at an odd angle but I keep going. My lungs burn in protest. The wind bites into my skin resisting my force. I still hear them. Their screams of rage.
