Apotelesma: "An effect of the stars on human destiny." Cassiopeia Jones was true to her name. She shone as brightly as the stars that made up her constellation, but it was too often dampened by her 'father'. Spencer Reid didn't expect a usual case to affect his life in so many ways, but maybe the teenager he helps along the way won't be so bad. (Story is marked mature for certain graphic scenes)

Spencer wraps the blanket tighter around us causing me to melt into him further. He sweeps my wet hair over my shoulder while I stare out towards the golden sunset. He plants a kiss on my temple before nuzzling his face into my neck. "Thank you," He whispers. I run my fingers through his soft curls, "For what?" "For showing me life doesn't always have to be so serious," He sighs. "I don't know what I did before you," He mutters, almost like it wasn't for me to hear.

Verecund: shy or modest; fearful. Just another case. Another kidnapping. All the BAU had to do was find the similarities between the found kids from the kidnappings, and determine who the unsub was. But there's one victim they can't quite understand. Different from the others. She refuses to talk, and shows strong signs of PTSD, something the other three didn't. They don't know her name, and nobody will come forward to claim her. The case can't be closed until all the victims are proven safe, but the BAU doesn't want to leave her behind after learning about her past. *Trigger Warnings for very graphic self-harm, abuse, self-destructive thoughts, sexual abuse/harassment, drug use, suicide, depression, PTSD, and eating disorders.*
