This fanfiction takes place between the episodes "Chance or Something more" and "Thornapple," after Maomao has prevented the assassination attempt on Jinshi.

The way back is submerged-unreachable for someone who cannot swim. In the tight confines of this hideaway, what has long been hidden comes to light. A secret, buried for years, is revealed-and throws Maomao off balance. Between falling drops and silence, between breaths and unspoken longing, something unfolds that neither of them planned-something that reaches far beyond this single day.
