Never in a million years did I think I would cross paths with him again. Michael Woods. The boy who broke my heart. The boy who picked hockey over me. The boy who left me behind. After giving three years of my life to him, it was all over after his college graduation. He went his way and I went mine. But I never imagined landing a job at his agency when I moved to Boston four years later, let alone as his assistant. A job that's meant for me to service him, do as he asks, and give him all smiles. So, I play the part. I play the nice, kind, sweet assistant in public and ignore him like my life depends on it in private. The thought of getting close to him again terrifies me because I know. I know that once I let him again, I'll never be able to let him out. And if I do, it'll be at the cost of my heart, and this time he'll leave it broken beyond repair. I used to think he was forever mine. But hockey changed everything. What would he do now if he had to make that choice? Me? Or hockey? Or both? . . . Everyone knows the number one rule in the locker room: Don't even look at the coach's daughter. But Maddie Blake has never been great at following rules. After years of living in her dad's shadow, legendary head coach of the NHL's top team, she's finally back in town, older, bolder, and completely over hockey... or so she tells herself. Then she meets Levi Hunter. Captain of the team. League MVP. NHL's golden boy. And the one guy her dad has literally warned every player about. He's cocky, charming, and stupidly gorgeous. And for some reason, he won't stay out of her way, or her thoughts. What starts as innocent flirting turns into stolen glances at practice, late night texts, and a spark that threatens to become something deeper. In a world where the game comes first, falling for him might just be the riskiest play Maddie's ever made. And in hockey, one wrong move can cost you everything. *closed door romance*

His fingers trailed along her cheek. Gentle. Possessive. Dangerous. "Say it," Dhruvay murmured, voice raw with longing. "Say you missed me, wife." Roopa's eyes dropped to his wrapped hand again, the way it trembled slightly, the way he'd covered it with something that belonged to her instead of getting treated properly. Her throat tightened. "You bled... fought... got yourself hurt," she whispered shakily, eyes glossing with something unspoken. "And came all this way... for this?" His lips curled, amused, but that glint in his eyes darkened. "Tch. That mouth... I missed that too." She placed her palm on his chest, trembling fingers pressing against the thudding heart beneath. Not to push him away. But to feel him. To ground herself. To steady her pulse that threatened to race away. "If I say I missed you," she whispered, her voice laced with fear and fury, "what would you do?" "I'd never let you leave again," he said without a blink. "Not even to breathe." Tears burned her eyes, but she swallowed them. "And if I don't?" His gaze darkened. The smile faded like smoke vanishing in wind. "Then I'll still keep you," he said coldly. "But you'll bleed with me, wife... until you understand you were never meant to run." A gasp caught in her throat. He meant every word. Every scar on him, was a sentence for her. "You're reckless," she whispered, "you terrify me..." His expression flickered, something ancient, something possessive, before he smiled again. A wicked, burning smile. "Good. Then maybe you'll stop running." His other hand slided beneath the hem of her top, resting possessively on her waist. "Now be a good girl, Roopa," he whispered, "and say you missed me." ~~❉~~ A forced marriage. A stolen past. And a love she was never meant to feel. When the truth comes out, will her heart betray her pride? Curious to know what happens next? Start reading DhRupa now.

(Short story) "This kiss just sealed the deal. You're mine and only mine now, Grace." His voice is low and rough like gravel and laced with something primal. I stop breathing. The air thickens, electric, heavy like the sky before a storm breaks. Everything stills, but the static between us crackles like it's seconds from combusting. His breath fans across my lips-close, so close-but still not touching. My heart slams against my ribs, erratic and loud, like it's trying to break free from my chest. Then his hand finds my jaw. His palm is rough, warm, grounding-but the look in his eyes? That's a wildfire. Just heat and hunger and something darker. "I..." The word is a whisper, barely there, shaky and useless. I can't finish it. His nose brushes mine in the softest graze, but there's nothing innocent about the way he's looking at me. Like he's seconds away from tearing me apart. Like he's been starving for this. "Say something" he murmurs, voice thick, his eyes flicking to my mouth. My lips part, not to speak, but because I need to breathe, to taste the tension curling like smoke around us. His thumb drags across my lower lip, slow and deliberate. My knees damn near buckle. I grab the front of his shirt, clutching it in both fists like he's the only thing tethering me to the ground. He leans in closer. And then his lips brush mine. Barely. A whisper of a kiss, soft enough to make me shiver. Then he kisses me again.

Every morning, Serenity shows up to the office before anyone else - including Ezra Langford, her infamously cold, calculating, and annoyingly attractive boss. She brings him coffee, not because he asks, but because she wants to - always with a handwritten quote on the cup, something cheesy, optimistic, and completely not his style. Or so she thinks. Because while Ezra never says thank you, never even cracks a smile... he's kept every single cup lid with her notes. Hidden in the bottom drawer of his desk, they're the only bright spot in his otherwise grayscale life. But when Serenity's warmth starts to get under his skin - and into his heart - he'll have to decide if he's brave enough to step out of hiding and tell her the truth: She's not just his coffee girl. She's the only reason he still believes in good things. »»-------¤-------«« "So, uh... any regrets on the merger yet?" "Only that Chase ordered shrimp from that place on 8th again." I laugh, too hard and too quickly. "You didn't like it?" "It tastes like regret." I grin. "That's what he said about your budgeting spreadsheet." Ezra's mouth twitches. Not a smile, not really. But close. I should say something professional. Something normal. Instead- "Do you really read them?" I ask softly. He looks up. "The quotes," I clarify, nervous now. "Do you actually read them, or... just collect them?" His eyes hold mine. There's no teasing in them. No cold, hard CEO mask. "I read them," he says. »»-------¤-------«« Word Count: 26, 074
