The sequel to The Weightless One follows Marina on her road to recovery from an eating disorder.
Marina wakes up in the hospital after a heart attack she sustained while attending an eating disorder treatment center. Her parents are upset that she is causing so much drama, especially because they consider her heart attack to be minor.
Miranda graduates the program after witnessing Marina's heart attack. It had a profound effect on her, and she is dedicated to remission.
Marina's parents are tired of the cycle of her eating disorder, and decide to side with her brother who abused her. They kick her out in a show of "tough love". Having no one to turn to, Marina begins to track down the girls she bonded the most with from the eating disorder programs she went to throughout the years. When she shows up on Miranda's door, her mother agrees to take her in.
But can Miranda help Marina work through her trauma without losing ground with her own recovery?
