Kokoa was just a traveler protecting poor villages from the wrath of royal officials. During one of her battles with the officials a masked man came and saved her. It was then she joined Yona on her journey to gather the dragons to help Yona in her quest. Throughout the journey the masked man continuously is there when Kokoa is in need making revive feelings that she's locked away. I do not own the characters in this story other than Kokoa and Yami. The story does follow the manga to a certain extent.
