Josh and Jennifer have had an on and off relationship since first meeting on the set of The Hunger Games, but just a few weeks after promotion for Mockingjay part 2 ends Josh abruptly breaks things off with Jennifer, forcing them to go their separate ways. Josh stays in California with his girlfriend Claudia, and Jennifer moves back in with her parents to distance herself from Josh. But their relationship is far from over, because Jennifer is pregnant with Josh's baby. As they struggle to rebuild the relationship they once had, it becomes clear to them that their relationship outside of The Hunger Games is difficult, unknown, and entirely unscripted.

Three years after Mockingjay part 2 promotion ends, and the hype wears out, Josh and Jen have moved back to their home town of Kentucky with their two kids and began their lives together as a family.
