Long ago, a species called Pokémon inhabited every corner of the earth, from the depths of the ocean to the atmosphere. They roamed the fields and swam in ponds. They rested in trees and flew overhead. They even thrived alongside humans, or so research says. The Pokémon then vanished without a trace. They left nothing behind except the technology that people had used to study them. Those machines now decorated museums all across the lone country named Inridia in order to immerse the population in the history of the world. The humans that lived during that same time period were also never seen or heard from again. Frost Statice -- son of a wealthy politician and student at one of Inridia's most prestigious academies -- was skeptic to believe the old stories. He thought they were nothing more than myths, for how could such a race have existed in such an ordinary universe? But when Frost encounters one of the creatures first hand, his perspective is forced to change. To uncover the truth behind the Pokémon's disappearance, he must dig deep into the history of Inridia itself. -------- ♔ 1st Place in the Adventure Category of the 2018 Pokémon Watty Awards ♔ Highest Ranking: #5 in Adventure, #5 in Action ♔ Best Protagonist, Most Deserving of a Sequel, and Pushing Boundaries in the 2018 Pokémon Watty Awards -------- ♔ Cover credit goes to the amazing @ImberLapis

It's horrible to don a mask. Most wear some kind of mask in their life--and for the most part, they're never of the best quality. All they cause is useless self-destruction and pain, but the good thing about them is that they can hide some ugly part of you that you don't want to show to the world. They're always a step down from what you think they'd be, always a notch lower than expectations, and always a lie to hide from the reality around us. ...of course, there are those that can see through those masks too, and it's supposed that Arceus created these humans to keep the world's sanity. That's all Avis wishes for, because it's nearly impossible to find any semblance of peace in this midst of war and chaos. To him, that's staying alone; staying out of others' business, and for the first seventeen years of his life, he's done that pretty well. § Avis can only hide in the shadow of his twin brother's strength, stranded in a country ravaged by war and destruction--and he tries to live his life in the darkness peacefully. He doesn't need to be noticed by everyone. The illusion of a functional, ideal life, however, is shattered when his family's balance is destroyed, and he thus dons his first mask. § For all his life, Avis had been taught that disaster was bad. For the most part, he's believed that much--he only needs to think of ungraceful piles of debris and blood-caked grounds to be convinced of that. At eighteen, he finds himself starting to doubt it--just a little. He can hate disaster for tearing his life to pieces, but he can't quite hate it for granting him something better than a miracle. § Tonight, these children don their masks.

Steven Stone: Champion of the Hoenn region, Mega Evolution user, and avid stone collector. Although no one knows his past, or how he even came to be Champion, behind every gem lies an untold tale of formation... Nine years before the Hoenn Primal Crisis, a younger Steven Stone has been forced to study for most of his life to prepare for becoming the next president of the Devon Corporation. His entire life changes when he receives Meteor, a Beldum with companionship to offer and more than enough to say about it. Once the duo take part in and win their first battle, Steven realizes that he's meant to be a Pokémon Trainer and eventually leaves home. Not long into his travels, Steven encounters an organization of people with twisted morals and an even more twisted way of expressing them. It doesn't take long to discover what they want- him. With assistance from Meteor, a few new allies, and an intriguing girl named Arietta, Steven can only hope he's able to elude capture so the organization won't ensure the downfall of not only the Devon Corporation, but potentially Hoenn itself. As far as Virizion is concerned, she has, and always will be, a Virizion. Having been 'awakened' from 'an injury that had given her amnesia', Cobalion has told her of who she was and of what she 'forgot'; though he left out the truth. Fully believing Cobalion, Virizion has lived her life in confusion; wondering why Team Double S V continues to give her odd looks and still trying to decipher the strange images that come with the migraines. But one the biggest mysteries is the word 'Serphisa'. That was the only thing her empty mind knew when she awoke. Having a month passed since she awoke, Virizion has gotten bored of her life in Treasure Town, and had left to find some adventure. And as she traveled farther from Treasure Town, her migraines seemed to give clearer pictures, until she realized that they must be connected to whatever 'Serphisa' was. Determined to find an answer, Virizion begins to investigate, but something in the back of her mind is nagging her: Does she really want an answer?
