A science-fantasy romance inspired by the myths of Hades and Persephone ~~~ Twenty-year-old Kore's got her whole life ahead of her. All she has to do now is die. Finally of age for exposure to the pseudovirus, she's soon to be transformed and reborn as a Variant--one of those who can live freely outside of the carefully-controlled living habitat dome known as Gaia. Only then will she be able to follow through with her betrothal to King Aidoneus Hades--a man she's met just once but who makes her blood run hot. Only then may she attend the prestigious university for the newly transformed she's been daydreaming about for years. But as her symptoms start to manifest and preparations for the wedding begin, tragedy strikes, threatening the life of Gaia dome itself. Luckily, Kore's become a Variant the likes of which her world hasn't seen in hundreds of years...and the only one with the power to save Gaia and everyone living within it. If she can survive her new life long enough to learn to control it, that is. (I will be making major edits to every chapter of this story in the near future. After the Yeladelian royal family is slaughtered in their sleep, the surviving Grand Duchess Manya Kovnokozi makes a harrowing escape into a neighbouring kingdom. She knows there's a traitor among her that desperately wants to end the great Kovnokozi line, so Manya knows her only chance of finding said traitor is to not be a Kovnokozi at all. Under an assumed identity, Manya's plans to reclaim the Frostborn Throne go awry when she's whisked away to a foreign court as the Lady Lilianna Griffith for the Season. Her disguise at foreign court falters when an ancient power within Manya begins to bubble to the surface, painting a new and more perilous target on her back. {WATTY'S 2020 WINNER & EDITOR'S PICK.} Hopeless romantic and aspiring writer Mare Atwood has fallen madly in love with her childhood correspondent. There's only one catch-she doesn't know who he is. When the beaus of Star's Crossing return from boarding school to begin the courting season, Mare is determined to uncover the identity of her writer, flout her family's intentions of orchestrating an advantageous marriage, and procure the life of writing and romance she's always sought. But as in the tales she so adores, it won't be easy. Galas, masquerades, picnics, and hunts-alongside an old friend, a former teacher, and an unlikely ally, Mare delves into an investigation that leaves her torn between three clever, deceptive, and wealthy young bachelors. If Mare can confirm which is her writer and claim his hand before the courting season ends, she'll have her wish: the love of her life, a valuable marriage, and a future of writing romance. But with the eyes of Star's Crossing upon her, a business plot forcing invisible hands, and the unwillingness of her writer to come forward-Mare's future may not end in triumph, but tragedy. Set against the gilded Victorian backdrop of coastal Connecticut and lush with pre-war luxury, fans of Jane Austen, Margaret Mitchell, and Louisa May Alcott are sure to enjoy this lighthearted, lyrical novel of young love, independence, and identity. #1 Literary #1 YA Romance #1 Victorian #1 Lyrical #8 General Fiction

#1 Dystopian | #1 Survival | #3 Romance Abandoned by her mother in the midst of a war, Olya is caught in the throes of an uprising and captured by an enemy soldier. Only he won't tell her where he is taking her, because according to his people's laws he cannot look at, speak to, or touch a woman. || My eyes rolled open with a click, like the cocking of a gun--armed, dangerous--and for a brief and merciful moment, I remembered nothing. It took long seconds for the ceiling above to shift into focus-flat and smooth, a panel of shiny steel, almost like a mirror but warped. A distorted reflection gazed back at me, a ghostly white girl in dark clothing, colorless eyes and snowflakes for lashes. Had I always looked like that? Long hair and eyes wild? More of an animal than a girl? I supposed I had. ★✩★ ACHERON AWARDS|1ST PLACE| SOUL AWARDS|1ST PLACE| EXTRAORDINARY AWARDS|2nd Place| LITWITS AWARDS|2nd place| MIDNIGHT AWARDS|2nd place| GRAMMAR AWARDS|Finalist| TRIDENTS AWARDS|Runner Up|
