His corrupted persona goes through a chain of traumatic events that leads him to believe that love from Shadow was always artificial. All of this leads to both personas attempting to become the most perfect versions of themselves. In this journey to becoming perfect, Sonic finds out about Shadow's dark past that led him to becoming the cold blooded killer that he did.
