So it should come as no surprise to anyone that Gryffindor chaser Maeve Clancy can't stand that smug, infuriating, entirely punchable Slytherin beater, Sebastian Sallow. When one of her hopelessly romantic friends gets dumped, Maeve makes a reckless bet: she can get any guy to dump her before the Yule Ball and prove, once and for all, that men are the problem. Unfortunately for Maeve, Sebastian's got a bet of his own - he wagers he can get Maeve to fall for him before the next Gryffindor-Slytherin match, throwing her off her game and securing Slytherin's win.
