In the fatal spring of 1536, when the axe is whetted and the Tower bells toll, Queen Anne Boleyn does not die. Accused of treason, adultery, and witchcraft, abandoned by former allies and surrounded by enemies, Anne stands upon the brink of execution. Yet the storm she has stirred across Europe proves greater than Henry VIII anticipated. Foreign ambassadors protest the slaughter of a crowned queen; Emperor and King alike warn that such bloodshed will stain England's crown beyond forgiveness. Thomas Cromwell-calculating, pragmatic, and ever mindful of England's fragile alliances-intervenes at the final hour with a desperate compromise. Anne Boleyn is stripped of her titles, her marriage declared void, her honor publicly shattered-but her life is spared. She is banished forever from English soil. Her daughter Elizabeth is declared illegitimate and removed from the succession. Mother and child are sent under guard across the Channel, forbidden from correspondence, forbidden from return. Henry believes exile a cruelty worse than death: obscurity, humiliation, silence. He is wrong.

She was a woman made of fire and intelligence in a world that preferred its women quiet. She had not come for love. Nor had she come for fame. Not yet. She had come for survival. Her first glimpse of King Henry VIII was from across the tiltyard, a blur of gilded armor and reckless youth, his laughter loud as thunder, his charisma undeniable. He was everything the poets sang about-tall, handsome, and blessed with the kind of charm that could unravel kingdoms. At twenty-nine, he was still a warrior king, the sun around which all stars orbited. And yet, when he looked at her, it was as though the heavens tilted. (This is a story of Anne Boylen and Henry Tudor but not as we know it keep reading to find out)

Amidst the downfall of Anne Boleyn, the tumultuous marriage of Henry VIII, and the rise of the sweet-plain Jane Seymour, an unexpected guest arrives at the English court. Her name? Her Royal Majesty, Queen Adhara Samira Eloise of the House of Oldenburg - the formidable queen of Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, wielding unmatched power across northern Europe. She comes seeking a trade alliance with England: timber for ships in exchange for gold, rare spices for fine cotton. Yet fate has a different plan in store. As a Scandinavian queen cements her place, a Boleyn Queen spirals out of control, and a Mistress Seymour makes her final gambit, the court is thrown into chaos, intrigue, and desire. One kingdom. Three queens. And a King who never expected to be tamed.

Elizabeth Webb is sent to court as replacement for her mother who was beheaded by the order of King Henry VIII, the famous Tudor monarch. Elizabeth tries her hardest to satify her sovereign lord, since the death warrant is hanging low on her head, but even the slightest mistake can cost her everything. Meeting the demands of the court is always a challenge, but one day the King gives her an order, which might just be too much for poor Elizabeth Webb. This is my novella for the Open Novella Contest III. I've chosen prompt 31 and 45, and will be written in the genre historical fiction. 2nd place in The Spring Awards 2020 Copyright © annasofie_mattson, 2020 All Rights Reserved.

Fortune favors the brave or incredibly reckless. Charles Brandon, the Duke of Suffolk, a man of impulsive nature takes a risk on a woman of cautious prudence. Tasked to marry the King's daughter, through trials and tragedies he learns to triumph with the pearl of great price by his side. And hopefully a new dynasty can begin. All hail House Brandon. May you rise and never fall. My spin on Showtime's The Tudors because Mary deserves more and so does Charles. Yes I know history, but this is fanfiction. All gloves are off where that is concerned. Events will try to stay closely aligned but some things must change.
